Bhutan is also known to the world as the Last Shangri-La a country like heaven, untouched beauty that the nature has to offer, spectacular mountain views, immense scenic beauty and a unique culture and life style. On this tour you will be coming across unbelievably breath-taking mountains that are perennially capped with snows, waterfall, rivers and streams, chain of mountains that separate many beautiful valleys in Bhutan. You will be witnessing different kinds of architecture structural like Buddhist monasteries, Lhakhang and the fine arts & crafts of Bhutan.

Day 01:
Arrive Paro, Sightseeing.
On a clear day, the flight to Paro is breathtaking, with views of major Himalayan peaks such as Everest, Kanchenjunga and Makalu, and on the final approach Bhutan’s own snowy peaks, the sacred Jhomolhari, Jichu Drake and Tserimgang. You will be met by our representative, and after completion of arrival formalities you will be taken to your hotel. Evening short sightseeing. Overnight in hotel.

Day 02:
Paro, Hike to Taktsang
The trip begins with 20 minutes’ drive till the road and start uphill walk for about an hour. Taktsang is the popular name of Taktsang Palphug Monastery, a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and temple complex, located in the Cliffside of upper Paro valley. On approach path to the monastery, there is a Lhakhang and a temple of Urgyan Tsemo which, like the main monastery, is located on a rocky projection of several hundred feet over the valley. From this location, the monastery’s buildings are on the opposite ravine, which is known by the name “COPPER-COLOURED MOUNTAIN PARADISE of Padmasambhava”. This is the view point of visitors and there is cafeteria to provide refreshment. Overnight in hotel.

Day 03:
Paro- Thimphu, Sightseeing.
This bustling town is home to Bhutan’s royal family, the civil service, and foreign missions with representation in Bhutan. It is also the headquarters for a number of internationally funded development projects.

Morning will visit to Tashichhodzong, the main secretariat building which houses the throne room of His Majesty, the King. Tashichhodzong is also the summer residence of the Je Khenpo (Chief Abbot) and the central monk body.

Visit the nearby Institute for ZorigChusum (commonly known as the Painting School), where a six-year training course is given in the 13 traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan. Also visit (outside only) the National Institute of Traditional Medicine, where the medicinal herbs abundant in the kingdom are compounded and dispensed.
After lunch, visit the National Memorial Chorten. The building of this landmark was originally envisaged by Bhutan’s third king, His Majesty JigmeDorjiWangchuk, who had wanted to erect a monument to world peace and prosperity. Overnight in hotel

Day 04:
Thimphu, Hike to Tango.
After having early breakfast we will drive Tango Chari a Buddhist Monastery located 14 kilometres to the north of the capital city of Thimphu in Bhutan, near Cheri Mountain. It was founded by Lama Gyalwa Lhanampa in the 13th century and built in its present form by Tenzin Rabgye, the 4th Temporal Ruler in 1688. In 1616, the Tibetan, Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, meditated in its cave. The self-emanated form of wrathful Hayagriva is defined in the Monastery. Overnight in hotel.

Day 5:
Thimphu-Punakha-Wangdue
In the morning, travel to Punakha (2 ½ hrs.) via the Dochula pass. An hour's drive from Thimphu will take you to this pass (3140 m) where one can have a superb view of the Eastern Himalayas on a clear day with a powerful binocular telescope.

Visit the beautiful 108 chortens built on the hill by Her Majesty Ashi Dorji Wangmo for the security and wellbeing of His Majesty the King of Bhutan.
Travel onto Punakha, the old capital of Bhutan and presently the winter residence of the central monk body. Visit the Punakha Dzong, located on the island of the Pho-Chu (male) river and the Mochu (female) river. Visit the Dho Jha Gha Lam Temple.

After lunch, walk through the Metshina Village and take a 20-minute walk through the rice fields to the Devine Madman’s Monastery-Chhimi Lhakhang, famously known for its fertility shrine, where one can receive a special fertility blessing. Drive to Wangdue and visit Wangdue Dzong, situated on a ridge overlooking a river junction. In the 17th century, Wangdue played a critical role in unifying the western, central and southern regions of the country. Overnight at hotel in Wangdue.

Day 06:

Wangdue- Trongsa- Bumthang.
After having breakfast we will drive from Wangdue to Trongsa and to Bumthang. On this tour you will be coming across many beautiful valleys and you will be witnessing the largest Dzong at a striking location, which is an important administrative building, providing the headquarters of government Trongsa District. And then drive to Bumthang. Overnight in hotel.

Day 07:
Bumthang, Sightseeing
Bumthang is one of the most beautiful and holy place in Bhutan. We will visit Tamshing Lhakhang, founded in 1501 by Pema Lingpa, which contains interesting and ancient Buddhist wall paintings.

Later on we will visit Jakar Dzong, “the castle of the white bird”, the administrative center of the region.
In the afternoon, we will visit Kurje Lhakhang, one of the most sacred places in Bhutan as Guru Rinpoche meditated here, and later on Jambey Lhakhang which was erected in the 7th century, when Buddhism was first introduced into Bhutan.
Evening visit to local shops and visit to Bum hang’s market.
Overnight in hotel.

Day 08:
Bumthang- Paro
After an early morning breakfast we will set off on the 9 hour drive back to Paro, taking lunch at a famous restaurant in Trongsa town. We will then drive on through the mountains and down to Wangduephodrang, where we will take a short break for tea/coffee before proceeding on the final stage of our journey to Paro. Overnight in hotel.

Day 9:
Drive to Chelila and Hike to Kela Gompa (overnight in hotel) after having breakfast we will drive to Chelila. Chelila pass offers a breath taking view of the secret Mt. Jhomolhari. We will also hike to Kela Gompa, which is a nunnery located at the base of a cliff. Overnight in hotel.

Day 10: Departure
In the morning, your Bhutan tour guide from Bhutan Calling Tours & Treks will see you off at the Paro airport for your onward flight.
